Two flares were released at exactly the same time, creating two arcs away from each other.
Flares are by their nature used in situations of immediate distress. Restaging their use 'whilst not in immediate danger' speaks of the vulnerability of humanity and a desire to reconnect with each other.
Central to this work was that the event went unannounced and the flares were released to the back of the audience, breaking the model of the larger event within which it took place.
